Patches of Love

Welcome to our page. Firstly, we want to thank you for taking the time to go through this website and hopefully want to help in this cause.

Patches of Love was inspired by Pat and Noemi’s mother Salome. She’s a prime example of caring and helping , and always concerned of welfare of others. She cooked large batches of meals and all of us children have the task of distributing them to families in the neighborhood. Salome provided emotional and financial support to relatives, neighbors, and friends who have sick family members. She has inspired, mentored and guided and young people by her compassionate advice, support and encouragement. In her 20’s, Salome worked in an embroidery factory making baby outfits which inspired the first project: baby blankets.

In 2018 Noemi Librando started sewing patchwork baby blankets from scraps of fabrics. She crafted hundreds of baby blankets to give to newborns in poor areas in the Philippines. These baby blankets were distributed to mothers and babies in a rural health clinic in Silay, Negros Occidental (Southern Philippines ) by Pat’s Study Abroad students from Madonna U, Michigan. They were able to distribute these blankets to more areas only to be inspired to do more. In addition of two more programs, Patches now represent the different programs all being done with the intent of helping and aiding humanity.

The Feeding Program and the Mahalaga Bags are newly added projects in 2021 with the intent to help support rural communities in Philippines.

Where: Mambog, Binagonan, Rizal in the Philippines is a small rural community, like many, was greatly affected by the pandemic. Even before the pandemic this has a concentrated area of poverty in which has only increased today. Our mission is to provide assistance to the people by giving them food, supplies, and jobs for them to enhance their livelihoods.
